- Elementary school principal for 20 years, in Palos Verdes Peninsula, Santa Monica-
Malibu and Culver City Unified School Districts, leading the Culver City school to become
a California Distinguished School and to win a National Collaborative Award. See a list

- Central/Local District administrator for 6+ years in the Los Angeles Unified School
District
- Director of Partnerships and Adopt-a-School programs, securing outside
(corporations, businesses and individuals) human and monetary resources for all
LAUSD schools, supporting the development of college prepared and career-
ready students, including work-related internships and job-shadowing
experiences for students.
- Central District Instructional Support Services: supporting elementary literacy
programs and providing support to elementary, middle and high schools to
implement No Child Left Behind legislation
- Local District Administrator, Director of Instruction, leading my staff to provide
direct support to the 65 schools and 65,000 students in the Local District.
Responsibilities included: reading, writing, mathematics, science, social studies,
visual and performing arts, psychological services, nursing services, special
education, and for preschool through senior high school instruction
- Member of the California State Department of Education Content Review Panel,
reviewing all language arts state test items, grades 2-11
- Grant writer for my schools, bringing in additional and outside funding to the schools,
to strengthen and enhance current programs and build new ones
- Construction Bond Experience, remodeling two schools in two different school
systems; co-chair for bond passage in one district; providing ongoing and clear
communication about the needs and implementation of the bonds
- Experience in a variety of educational settings:
- Small and large school systems
- Schools with and without large second-language learner populations
- High and low socioeconomic populations
- Experienced and inexperienced teachers and staff
